1kW LLC Converter with GaN the Future is Here with EPC

This video introduces the EPC 1 kW LLC converter with eGaN FETs. This eval card contains the EPC91kit implementing the GaN FET EPC2024 and EPC 2218 GaN FETs from EPC (Efficient Power Conversion). It is a 1/8 Brick module with an LLC converter capable of 1 kWatts; input range 36 to 60 V and output range of 9 to 15V and 83 Amp output at 1 kW. The buck converter uses teh ISL81806 by Intersil now part of Renesas that is designed to run with GaN FETs. This is the Future of Power Electronics. The EPC2218 GaN FET will make large impacts in Switching Power Supplies, Class D power amplifiers, and anything that uses a power MOSFET.
